About Finomic

Finomic is a youth-led organization aiming to increase financial literacy among others our age. Knowing the basics of finance is fundamental for each person regardless of their interest in the field- if learned early on in life, it eliminates the risks of credit debt, irresponsible borrowing, and many more. Through our informative, often country-specific blogs and videos, students gain the knowledge needed to navigate through life responsibly, whilst making sound financial decisions. Furthermore, Finomic offers internships for dedicated students in areas such as social media management, design, and blog-writing. We additionally provide opportunities for publishing papers on finance-related topics, empowering young minds to contribute to the financial conversation.
What issues are we aiming to solve?
A study conducted by Neha Garg and Shveta Singh demonstrates the absurdly low financial literacy levels among the youth in most parts of the world, to the point where the authors find it concerning. A supportive finding shows how the generality of the youth consistently fails financial literacy tests, even despite the completion of money management courses (Totenhagen Casey J. et. al). Similarly, the lack of financial knowledge may result in disastrous consequences such as “higher borrowing rates, mortgage delinquency” and countless more (Kasman Matt et. al). To present it numerically, according to Terry Turner, 75% of adolescents are doubtful of their financial knowledge.
Which SDG will we work on?
Our organization aims to ameliorate and offer Quality Education globally. Through informative and understandable blogs and videos, adolescents will be educated about economic principles, aiding them in becoming financially responsible in the long run. Considering that borrowing and debt are a few of the many disastrous results of financial illiteracy, educating the youth will thus contribute to a more productive and stable society.
